White - Digital lock
| Project: Individual | Timeframe: 4 weeks | Process: Shape study, Solid Works, Keyshot
Challenge
In labs today, there are high demands regarding security and efficiency. The equipment is static and the samples are stored in archives, which means the staff must use trollies to carry them. Once samples have been analyzed, they need be re-archived, which can result in a lot of traffic through the lab doors.
Result
The digital lock permits authorized staff to enter without requiring an access-card or a code. In short, the lock facilitates for users to safely unlock doors. Features such as, biometric authentication that identifies the user's face and fingerprint as an additional security measure, make it efficient and effortless for the user to walk in and out of rooms.

“I moved fairly quickly from the 2D sketches to making variations of foam prototypes. I wanted to get a sense of what people preferred and what worked best ergonomically.”

Adding electronics and a touch button.
“I was looking to create a prototype that was as close as possible to a real product. I was exploring how the glass material reacted to light and the feel of the touch button.”
